Survivor Nicaragua: Episode One

It's finally back, it's the moment we have all been waiting for. That's right, Survivor #nowonwednesdays has finally premiered!

Now, I don't know about you, but I have had a countdown going since it was announced. At first I was a little annoyed that it was no longer on Thursdays, and I thought for sure it meant my most beloved show was doomed. Now I think it might work. This just means I have two great nights of TV, and my husband can cook and clean and tend to my son one extra night.

Anyways, enough of my nonsensical rambling. Let's see what I thought about the actual show, and not the time change.

First, I love that they are divided by age. We have seen similar versions of this done, and those young ones are always so cocky I love seeing them get their asses kicked. Is anyone else remembering survivor Palau when the seemingly younger, fitter tribe was decimated by the older tribe. Well, that didn't happen this time, though I am still holding out hope. Right now though, I think that the older tribe has too many alpha males, and will implode on itself.

I love that Jane was smart enough to realize you need to practice making fire. I don't know why this concept is so difficult to understand! If you learn how to make it with a variety of materials and equipment, you will be set. I am rooting for her to win, though I don't think she will make it too far. Especially if there is a tribe switch up before a merge, she will be seen as weak and bringing down the tribe by the younger people.

I have heard a lot of people hating on Shannon for his seemingly sexist remarks, but I truly feel that thinks he is being funny. My husband talks like that to me, and I know he isn't serious. If he was, he'd be six feet under by this time. I think that he is going to get a bad edit and be portrayed as a bit of a villain though. I really want to see this played out.

Now, the Medallion of Power. The lamest twist ever. I'm curious how this actually works. If it can work for reward and immunity things could get interesting. Say there is a really big food reward, and you decide to use the MOP, you give the other tribe an advantage at the immunity challenge, but if you have food in you stomach and energy, you could still have an advantage. I think if done properly this could really work out. They really shouldn't have named it something so stupid though.

On to tribal council. Do I think Wendy dug herself a grave? No, she might have switched a few votes over, but she was going home anyway. I wish we would have seen more of what happened there though, other than her ramblings. Like I said before, that tribe has too many alpha males. Did they have any blows at tribal council?

I am really excited for this season, and I hope it lives up to all it could be for me. Coming off such an explosive Heroes V Villains season though, I can see it losing ratings.

Now that you've read my ramblings, head over to http://bitchysurvivor.blogspot.com for a unique take on what happened last week.
